Aim: to enable the participants to design, assemble, operate, program and test an embedded microcomputer system. |
Contents: Basic CPU architecture and function.
Basic computer architecture: address, data, and control busses, timing, interrupt, serial communication.
Design of a small embedded system based on a single chip controller.
Interfacing to external units: program and data memories and ports.
Use of the serial port. Interfacing and communication with other systems.
Programming: assembler language and high level languages.
Practical construction, operation and testing.
Use of simulation and testing tools. |
