Aim: The aim of the course is to make the student able to:
- understand the principal operation of diodes and transistors.
- make linear small-signal equivalents for diodes and transistors using typical component data.
- analyse and design simple rectifier circuits and amplifiers. |
Contents: Models for diodes and transistors. Bipolar - and fieldeffect-transistors.
Circuits containing rectifier diodes and Zener diodes.
Operating point and graphical representation of transistor characteristics.
Stabilizing the operating point. Static and dynamic loadline.
Linear small-signal models. Fundamental amplifiers.
Hybrid pi-model and HF analysis of a single transistor stage.
Frequency response for amplifiers. Transistor specifications.
PSpice-simulation. |
