Aim: -to understand and apply the mathematical methods and -theories used in digital signal processing (DSP).
-to design digital filters to match specifications concerning frequency response and noise properties.
-to understand and correctly apply digital spectral analysis.
-to understand the basic principles in connection with implementation of digital filters |
Contents: Introduction and overview: Basic concepts and terminology.
Digital contra analogue signal processing. Overview of hardware for DSP.
Applications of DSP, an overview: Radar, sonar, Measuring equipment, control engineering, biomedical analysis, etc.
Models and methods: Signals and the Z-transform. System description in the frequency domain.
Digital spectral analysis. DFT, FTD and FFT.
FIR filters (Finite Impulse Response Filters): Properties, design, implementation.
IIR filters (Infinite Impulse Response filters): Properties, design, implementation. Simulating analogue systems.
Hardware and implementation: Design tools. Finite word length limitations, quantization- and roundoff noise.
The ADSP 2100 family of signal processors: An orientation. |
