Aim: The aim of the course is to familiarize the participants to different types of radiation instruments, to interprete the results, and to assess the accuracy of the measurements. |
Contents: At present the course include the following topics: Interactions between radiation and matter. Simple measurements of beta- and gamma-radiation. Spectral measurements with a scintillator and with a Ge detector. Interpretation of spectra measured with multichannel analysers. Measurements of thickness and densities. Termoluminiscense dosimetry. Measurements related to health physics. Further, one exercise should be selected within medical engineering, petrophysics, or non-destructive testing. |
