| Aim: To give the students an understanding of the use of microprocessors and peripherals in instruments. |
| Contents: First a few lectures are given on the properties of a microprocessor and on how to use it together with keyboards, displays, external storage media, AD and DA-converters. After having tested the microprocessor together with the peripherals in the laboratory, the student selects a project for construction. It may be an instrument that measures some physical parameters, performs calculations and transmits the result to a computer; or the microprocessor may control another instrument or an actuator based on the measured parameters. Finally, the results are described in a report. |
