Remarks: The course is a part of the Primary courses in Energy-Engineering and in Environmental-Engineering,but may be taken independently. The course is given in collaboration with IMT.

Aim: To qualify the participants to use concrete methods for energy and environmental planning. Moreover to attain an understanding of the technical and economic possibilities, of the interaction between environmental and energy aspects in the planning, and of the driving force behind the long-term development in these areas.
Contents: The different elements of energy and environmental planning are reviewed: Background and connections, goals, theory of planning, criteria for assessment, means of implementation, analysis of the development of energy consumption, local, regional and global considerations with emphasize on energy conservation and renevable energy sources. Danish and international planning. Topical themes in energy and environmental planning.
