Aim: To develop an understanding of the importance of safeguarding against fire the human, material and economic values in buildings and premises, and to convey such knowledge that students will be able to handle fire problems in proper detail and, to some extent, also cases of more complex nature. |
Contents: In 5-6 sections are treated topics such as:
- Fires and fire-losses.
- Fire regulations
- Fire testing and classification.
- Essentials of fire development and firespread
- Fire properties of building materials
- Fire safety problems and design in buildings and structures
- Fire prevention and protection in industrial/commercial premises and public institutions.
- Selected topics of current or special interest. |
