| Remarks: In the course every team will have 3 experiments of 1 week inclusive writing a report. The ecteriments will take place at Department of Biotechnology and Department of Chemistry. |

| Aim: To extend the students understanding of making solutions of technical or chemical problems by exercises and calculations. The course is of great value for further studies at IBT and KT. |
| Contents: The following labs are used (3 are to be chosen by each student): IBT: 1) aeration of fermentors, 2) Decantation centrifuge, 3) Fermentation i 100 l pilot plant, 4) Flash sterilization, 5) Drying of consumables. KT: 1) Vapor-liquid equilibria, 2) Viscosity of Newtonian and non-Newtonian liquids, 3) Gas-liquid sepatation in plate coloumn, 4) Simulation of a chemical process, 5) Emulsion polymerization, 6) Ultrafiltration, 7) Pervaporation, 8) Electrodialysis. |
