| Aim: To provide the student with thorough knowledge as well as practical skills in those parts of mathematics that are useful in chemical engineering and to provide the student with a conceptual understanding of mathematics and with some skills in mathematical reasoning. |
| Contents: Elementary functions of one variable, their derivatives and integrals. Limits, L'Hospital's rule, Taylor's theorem. Complex numbers. Elementary differential equations. Numerical methods for integration and for differential equations. Partial derivatives. |
