Aim: The aim of the course is to extend the knowledge of colloid and surface chemistry emphasizing applications to industrial processes. |
Contents: The main fields are colloid systems (systematism, production, properties and destruction) and all kinds of surfaces: gas/liquid/solid. As detailed subjects can be treated emulsions, suspensions and charged double layers (stablizing and destroying, flocculation); flotation; rheology; surface tension, wetting and contact angles, adhesion, adsorption; friction and lubrication; detergents, foams (stablizing and destruction); membranes; liquid crystals. |
