Aim: To give the students a theoretical and practical knowledge of how to plan a surveying task, measurements by satellites (GPS), adjustment of surveying observations; projections and maps, technical and administrative maps, geographical information systems (GIS) and photogrammetry. |
Contents: Introduction to the theory of adjustment, estimation of uncertainty of measurements and predicting the quality of the resulting co-ordinates. Introduction to datum and map projections, surveying nets, position-fixing by satellite observations (GPS). Introduction to photogrammetry for mapping. Information about the different Danish maps (topographical, land register, technical) and geographical information systems (GIS). Examples of surveying and engineering projects from Denmark and abroad. The group work contains planning of a photogrammetric mapping and a triangulation network. |
