Aim: To enable the students to design urban and rural roads and intersections using computer aided design methods. |
Contents: Three topics are dealt with during the fall: (1)geometric design controls including driver, vehicle and road characteristics, (2) geometric design of cross section, grade line and alignment taking the environment into consideration and (3) rehabilitation of existing roads including accident control. In January a road section is designed using the software programme NovaCAD. |
