| Contact person: | Jan Grubb Laursen, IFP, Building 115, Tel. +45 4525 1503 | | | Aim: To enable the students to work with the concepts and methods, which are used by local road authorities when planning for road and path traffic. | | Contents: Five themes are treated in the course: Introduction (e.g. road user psychology, behaviour, traffic countings and traffic measurements), regulation of intersections (yield-, roundabout- and signalised intersections), traffic safety, traffic environment and traffic network planning. The themes are treated on the basis of considerations concerning the various road users in individual traffic modes: pedestrians, cyclists and car drivers. The technical aspects will be made clear through exercises, in part through measurements in the field, in part through calculation exercises (some on PC's). | |      |
