Aim: To teach the student to analyse the economic, political, and planning conditions of urban processes. |
Contents: Urban theory tries to analyse the spatial aspects of the development of societies: the urbanization. The locating and shaping of works sites, dwellings, institutions, infrastructure and recreative areas, and their impact on living conditions in the city area studied and discussed by use of major investigations from Denmark and abroad. The development of urban theory and its theoretical weaknesses and forces are investigated. The Metropolitan urban region in Denmark is used as a case for discussing urban politics and plans. |
