Aim: To introduce Danish geology and compare it with geology of neighbouring countries. To give knowledge about the most important sediments and geological processes resulting in their formation. Additionally, to introduce geological methods, nomenclature and sources of geological information about Denmark (literature, files etc.). To recognize the importance of local geological conditions for physical planning, geotechnical investigations, investigations of contamination, raw material excavation (water, gravel, chalk) etc. in Denmark and in other areas with comparable geological conditions.
Contents: Formation of sediments, sea bottom geology, glacial geology, bogs, geology in coastal aeras, groundwater, weathering, description of sediment samples, over view of the geological history of Denmark.
