Aim: To enable the participants: (i) to obtain advanced knowledge of laboratory and field testing methods used in research and in advanced practice to determine strength and deformation properties of soils. (ii) to write descriptive, factual and interpretive reports, and also to use the results in practice. |
Contents: Stress path dependent tests. Stepwise and continnous consolidation test, triaxial tests etc. Critical state and Shansep concepts. Hydraulic conductivity model and centrifuge testing. In situ investigations. |
