Aim: To enable the participants: -to plan a geotechnical preliminary and design investigation appropriate to a given project. -to explain the most important problems in relation to design and construction of foundations and open cuts in the soil profile, and to indicate solutions to given foundation problems. -to plan and interpret possible follow up investigations and arrangements. |
Contents: Geotechnical investigations, including application of geology and soil testing. Building foundations and open cuts, including seepage problems, frost problems, and considerations of neighbouring constructions. Earth fill. control investigations. Foundation failures. |
