Aim: To give insight in the theory of chemical bonding in inorganic compounds which is necessary to understand the experimental results and to be able to utilize the theory in practical applications. |
Contents: The basic chemistry given in course C2105/C2113 is developed. The emphasis is placed on metal compounds. The concepts, theories, and models of coordination chemistry are introduced, and on this basis the structural, thermodynamic, kinetic, spectral, and magnetic properties of metal compounds are explained. The catalytic and biochemical aspects of coordination chemistry are discussed.
