Aim: To give an insight into the application of operations research within public planning. Moreover, a framework to understand the historical development of planning methods and models will be presented. |
Contents: Operations Research Methods and the Social Sciences. Planning methods and models: Input-Output matrix, Econometric Models and Cost-Benefit Analysis. The relationship between planners and decision makers (the State) will be illustrated, both theoretically and as case studies. Examples of themes that may be considered in the final report are: Long-time economic planning, Health planning, Traffic planning, Energy planning, Project planning, etc. |
