63340 Water and Wastewater Treatment
Danish title: Vandrensning

Type: Å, Language: EEE
Credit points: 5 point
Previous course: C6340
Offered by: Department of Environmental Science and Engineering (IMT)
No credit points with: C6340
Prerequisite: 63130/C6330
Recommended semester: 7th - 9th semester
Examination: Written exam (13 point scale )
Contact person: Mogens Henze, IMT, Building 113, Tel. +45 4525 1477
Aim: During the course the students obtain a thorough insight in biological, chemical and physical chemical processes and unit operations applied in water treatment plans. This theoretical understanding forms the basis for design of treatment plants (course C6341 and C6332).
Contents: The course emphasizes the theoretical understanding and the design basis for the water treatment processes for removal of soluble and particulate organic matter, nitrogen, and phosphorus, aeration/stripping of gasses, separation processes, and sludge stabilization and sludge dewatering. The main focus is on waste water processes, but treatment of ground water and surface water is dealt with as well.
