| Aim: To provide the students with knownledge on an operational level on biotechnological principles and technologies applied within the environmental area. |
| Contents: Microorganisms and their potential and limitations for environmental purposes; principle of aerobic and especially anaerobic microbial conversion; design of cultures for specific clean-up purposes; principle of microbial growth; biofilms; biomass characterization, use og microbes for composting, biogas production, gas treatment, soil treatment, removal of xenobiotics, anaerobic waste water treatment; modelling of anaerobic processes, sensors and biosensors. |
