Aim: The student is expected to be able to analyze the general interrelation between the urban drainage system, the wastewater treatment plant, and impact on the recipients. The student will learn how to minimize pollution discharge. The solutions are optimized taking the overall system into consideration. |
Contents: The course is divided into quantitative and qualitative aspects. The quantitative aspects comprise: model calibration, uncertainty assessments, inhomogeneous rain, rule-based control and realtime control. The qualitative aspects comprise: pollutant transport in urban run-off, modelling of treatment plants, control of the integrated system by means of detention basins and stormwater infiltration. |
