Contents: The requirement of national environmental rules and regulations are introduced via initial lectures referring to general legislative principles (receiving water quality, environmental objectives, Best Available Technique, emission controls etc.) covering air-, water-, soil-related standards, as well as waste- and waste water treatment and/or -disposals. Students are assigned in small groups to individual industries which are registered as "potential polluters", and on the basis of personal visits and interviews with the industry, as well as with goverment officials, they are expected to discuss, analyse and report on technical and organisational matters related to the environmental permits, audits and accountings.
