Aim: To give the students a thorough knowledge of metallic materials and their properties emphasizing their general technological and strength properties and to a lesser degree their physical properties as well as their fields of application. |
Contents: Phase diagrams. Alloys and their heat treatment. Destructive and non destructive testing, standardization, and control. The different metals, their production and their alloys: iron, steel, cast iron, stainless steel, aluminium, magnesium, titanium, copper, nickel, silver, gold, hard metals. |
