Aim: To enable the students to make calculations of strength and vibrations of large combined or geometrically complicated structures by use of computers. |
Contents: Part A: The stiffness method used on frame structures in three dimensions, including principles of modelling. Dynamic analysis of frame structures.
Part B: The finite element method based on energy theorems. Different element types. Stress and vibration analysis by use of the finite element method, including principles of modelling. During the course several practical design projects inside steel constructions. |
