Aim: The primary objective og the course is ti make the student acquainted with a set of tools for performing a risk analysis, and for decision making under uncertainty. |
Contents: The fundamental aspects within the field of risk analysis will be presented. This part of the course covers event trees and fault trees in connection with methods for the analysis of these. The course will also introduce a systematic method of identifying risk objects - the so-called HAZOP analysis.
The decision theoretic part of the course covers belief and decision nets under conflicting objectives.
Examples will often be taken from the marine industry. After the course it is the aim that the student:
- understands the fundamental asoects and pitfalls of risk analysis.
- is able to perform and review conducted risk models.
- is able to apply the tools of decision analysis to aid decision making under uncertainty.
- can employ decision analytic methods in intelligent information processing systems. |
