Remarks: The course is a recommended prerequisite for 57249 and 57221. Cources C0141, C0312, C0315 and C0334 can be of interest for those seeking a wider background for the mathematical description of water waves.
Contact person: I.G. Jonsson, ISVA, Building 115, Tel. +45 4525 1425
Aim: a) To become acquainted with a number of advanced methods in water wave hydrodynamics.
b) To utilize these for the calculations of wave heights, lengths and directions, as well as water levels and motions in the sea and in nearshore regions.
Contents: Depth refraction, energy losses in waves, superposition, reflection, interaction between waves and currents, diffraction, mathematical and numerical modelling of steep waves.
