Offered by: Department of Hydrodynamics and Water Resources (ISVA)
No credit points with: C5748
Prerequisite: 57237
Recommended semester: 7th - 9th semester
Limitation: Max. 15
Scope and form: Lectures in combination with solving 1-2 problems in groups of two

Aim: (1) to achieve a better understanding of how physical and reactive processes affect contaminant transport in groundwater and (2) to develop and apply numerical reactive transport codes to contaminant groundwater problems.
Contents: Numerical methods for solving geochemical (equilibrium) and biodegradation (kinetic) reactions. Numerical methods for coupling these reactons to solute transport. Development and verification of reactive transport codes including application to existing field- and laboratory experiments.
