Aim: Basic knowledge of electromagnetism and its relation to electronic circuit components. Skills in analysing elementary analogue circuits. Basic skills in digital construction.
Contents: Electro- and magnetostatics. Electromagnetic induction. Capacitance and inductance. Basic equations of electromagnetism. Kirchhoff's rules and circuit calculations. Active components and model descriptions. Thevenin's theorem. Transient behaviour. Steady state AC calculus. Logic gates. Boolean algebra.
Combinational and sequential circuits. Medium scale integrated components.
