Aim: To teach the students about task/problem formulation, about planning and performing an engineering project and to offer the students practice at rational routines when doing development work in groups. |
Contents: The project starts at the end of the 14-week-period of the semester. Each group choses a task (see below). The group work out a detailed task formulation and make a plan for the contents and the time consumption necessary for the completion of the task. The written task formulation and plan for its completion must be approved before the start of the 3-week-period. The construction and testing must be carried out and the concluding report be written during the 3-week-period. The tasks comprise design and laboratory testing of a small digital construction, for instance a thermometer, analogue sampler, bar code reader, remote control, digit transmitter or telephone-answering machine. |
