The theoretical part of the course consists of theories on economic preconditions and driving forces behind technological development. A first level of this work is a macro level with social interest groups, market and competitive forms. industry and demand structure, international relations and business cycles. A second level is a micro level with internal economic problems in enterprices and investment decisions. Further it is an important dimension of this course that more concrete technological changes in products, processes, inventions, innovations, diffusion, life cycles and differences between branches are studied in connection with socio economic consequences for growth, distribution, employment and competitiveness, Finally there will be made some observations on policy options in relation to technology and business.
