Aim: To provide the participants with specific knowledge about public regulation of environment and working environment and to train the ability of the students to analyse the background of different political strategies by the use of theoretical insight. |
Contents: The course starts with outlining the historical development of the regulation in the two fields of environment and working environment. Subsequently, a number of themes are taken up: different theoretical approaches to understanding the background of the problems and to conceiving the scope and character of the problems, theories on implementation, economic instruments, self-regulation, and regulation under conditions of scientific uncertainty. The themes are relevant for both empirical fields, but most of the literature relates to the environmental field. The course emphasizes the training of the students in the use of theoretical tools in analytical work. |
