Scope and form: 3 lecture modules and 3 hours of problem solving in groups per week.

Aim: Central mathematical concepts and methods. Moreover to use the mathematical methods for solving some structural mechanics problems.
Contents: Differential equations, including boundary and eigenvalue problems for ordinary linear differential equations. Linear systems, solution methods and structure results. Sequences. Infinite series. Power series. Fourier series. Infinite series as solution for ordinary differential equations. Many of the topics are illustrated with examples from Structural Mechanics.
