Aim: To enable the students to study and apply tools from Calculus, which find their application in the solution of partial differential equations. |
Contents: Green's formula and Green's functions. Wave equation in space and time. Singularities and sources. Diffusion equation and the Schrödinger equation. The hydrogen atom. Boundary value problems in the plane and space. Bessel- and Legendre functions. General eigenvalue problems. Symmetrical operators. Eigenvalue asymptotics. Distributions. Fourier- and Laplace transformation. Individual study of an advanced subject according to the students wishes. |
