Aim: To practise basic laboratory techniques, aiming at synthesis of organic compounds, their purification and analysis using chromatography and spectroscopy. To illustrate and extend the theory in 23110 Organic Chemistry 1. |
Contents: Simple organic chemical unit operations in the laboratory. Synthesis and analysis of organic compounds. Thin layer and gas chromatography. IR spectroscopy. Polarimetry. Safety in the laboratory, including the use of handbooks. |
