| Aim: To give the students a thorough knowledge of the NMR-spectroscopy and its techniques, so that they will be able to solve a number of different problems in the organic chemistry and related subjects in which structure determination is essential. |
| Contents: Advanced 1H NMR spectroscopy with emphasis on applications. Analysis of complicated spectra. Use of double resonance experiments and modelled pulse-sequences. Advanced C-13 NMR spectroscopy with emphasis on use in structure elucidation. Heteronuclear NMR is briefly discussed. The basic 2-D NMR methods will be presented. Applications are illustrated in problems in which NMR, IR, UV/vis.- and mass spectrometry are used as an integrated analytical battery. |
