23456 Applied NMR-spectroscopy
Danish title: Anvendt NMR-spektroskopi

Type: Å, Language: DDD
Credit points: 5 point
Previous course: C2356
Offered by: Department of Organic Chemistry (OK)
No credit points with: C2356
Prerequisite: 23352/C2352
Recommended semester: 7th semester
Scope and form: 2 modules, lectures and problem solving.
Examination: Written exam (13 point scale )
Contact person: Inge Lundt, OK, Building 201, Tel. +45 4525 2133
Aim: To give the students a thorough knowledge of the NMR-spectroscopy and its techniques, so that they will be able to solve a number of different problems in the organic chemistry and related subjects in which structure determination is essential.
Contents: Advanced 1H NMR spectroscopy with emphasis on applications. Analysis of complicated spectra. Use of double resonance experiments and modelled pulse-sequences. Advanced C-13 NMR spectroscopy with emphasis on use in structure elucidation. Heteronuclear NMR is briefly discussed. The basic 2-D NMR methods will be presented. Applications are illustrated in problems in which NMR, IR, UV/vis.- and mass spectrometry are used as an integrated analytical battery.
