Aim: To engage the participants in problems of advanced organic chemistry and make them familiar with the newest experimental methods. |
Contents: By arrangement and/or written notice at the Dept. of Organic Chemistry, one of the following subjects is offered:
Selective organic synthesis: Stereochemical control in the synthesis of stereoisomers. Steering chemical reactions by the use of effective tools: Organophosphorous-, Sulphur-, Boron- and Silicon chemistry, organometallic chemistry; catalysis etc.
Carbohydrate chemistry: Glycoside synthesis and biological properties. Use of carbohydrates for synthesis of optically active compounds (chiral pool). Identification of carbohydrate synthons of general utility.
Natural product chemistry: Biosynthesis of secondary metabolites. Chemotaxonomy. Organic synthesis of and from natural products. |
