Aim: The scope of this course is to introduce to the students the following aspects of working environment:
- legislation, terminology, theories and methods applied within the area of working environment
- how does working environment link with the actual production process and with the organisation of work
- methods to identify factors of the working environment which may be hazardous to health
- technology and technological changes and the effects upon working conditions
- the health-and-safety apparatus, and the role of the local health-and-safety group
- types of interventions, problem-solving and sustainable solutions. |
Contents: The students carry out a survey of working conditions in a case enterprise. Legislation, definitions, theories and methods are introduced to enable the students to assess health hazardous effects related to 1. single factors of working environment, 2. technology/technological changes, and/or to 3. health-and-safety activities at the enterprise. Ideas to problem-solving through sustainable solutions is part of the group work. |
