Remarks: The course is connected to other courses at CTI. It has however also relevance for other infrastructure areas (fx. energy, water, transportation) although empirically it concerns primarily telecommunication. |

Aim: To introduce to the students to the importance of regulating technology and markets within the telecommunication sector. To identify the driving forces, different regulatory systems and the consequences of different regulatory strategies. |
Contents: The course deals with the market and the social regulation of networks and services within telecommunication. The transition from monopoly to competition; what, why and how to regulate; Special regulatory areas, regulatory systems in different countries; and regulatory bodies nationally and internationally. |
