Aim: The use of telecommunication is steadily growing in both public and private networks. The aim of the course is to introduce various methods for analysis of traffic in corporate networks and to give the participants an understanding of the characteristics of different traffic types and their relation to the construction and operation of corporate networks. |
Contents: Analysis of telecommunication demands in a corporation. Traffic measurements in theory and practice. Statistical methods for forecasting and data analysis. Quality of service and users' relations to the corporate network. Traffic types and their characteristics; multimedia traffic. Traditional and new mathematical traffic models. The relation between traffic models and dimensioning, planning and configuration of networks. Case studies: organizations and their networks. |
