Aim: The purpose of this course is to present issues related to the implementation, administration, and operation of a corporate telecommunication network. Technical, organizational, and economic issues will be treated, with special attention to the relation between theory and practice. |
Contents: Overview of network types with examples of technical solutions; local area networks and their interconnection, protocols and network elements. Presentation of network architectures, internetworking and compatibility. Network Management, monitoring and standards. Network documentation. Performance analysis and optimization; network design and planning methods. Errors, faults and reliability of components and systems; redundancy; Quality of Service. Cooperation with users, demand analyses and performance measurements; work processes and efficiency. Models for development of the operating and supporting department; internal billing and administration. |
