| Aim: To evaluate stresses and strains, deformations and conditions for stability in structures consisting mainly of beams, and so to determine siutable dimensions for both static and dynamic loadings. |
| Contents: Evaluation of stress concentration factors. Column dimensioning. Deflections determined by the unit-load method. Solving one degree statically indddeterminate structures. Approximate solutions for indetermainate structures of higher degree. |
