Aim: The aim of the course is to enable the students to: 1) understand the possibility of using CAD in the different phases of the design process, 2) understand the structure and the utility of different levels of CAD/CAM and CAE in the design environment (Concurrent Engineering), 4) analyse specific problems in CAD/CAM and CAD/CAM applications, 5) obtain the basic knowledge of the use of at least one advanced CAD/CAM-system. |
Contents: Theory: CAD versus the classic design theory. Structure and utility of CAD/CAM-systems. Modeling, remedies for design, design variants, development of applications, CAM and numerical control, transmission of data between systems, fields of development in CAD/CAM, Costumising 3D CAD-systems, Concurrent Engineering
As a part of the course the students will use advanced CAD/CAM-workstations in connection with larger individual task. |
