| Aim: To give the student a knowledge of advanced biochemical research methods and equipment. |
| Contents: Biochemical, chromatographic and electrophoretic methods for the examination of carbohydrates, lipids and proteins. Isolation of enzymes and characterization of their physico-chemical and catalytic properties. Metabolic studies, including energetic aspects, on cells and subcellular structures isolated by diffential centrifugation: i.e. glycolysis, citric acid cycle, photosynthesis, electron transport, and oxidative phosphorylation. |
