Aim: To present problems related to design and operation of power plants and district heating power plants. To give an insight into research and development in this field. |
Contents: The main subject is steam power plants. These plants and their components will be closely examined. Thermodynamic, fluid dynamic and heat transfer aspects of components such as boilers, condensers, turbines, and pumps will be discussed. Problems of type of fuel, fuel quality, economics, safety and pollution will be dealt with. Furthermore, future alternatives such as combined-cycle, fluid-bed, and intergrated-gasification power plants will be discussed. |
