Aim: To give an introduction to modern measuring techniques for determining velocity, pressure, temperature, heat diffusion, etc. for fluids under stationary as well as nonstationary conditions, including the design of complex measuring systems along with data acquisition systems for application to applied thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and heat transfer. |
Contents: Statistical and dynamical properties of various measuring systems. Transducers and systems for determining of pressure, velocity, flow, temperature, heat diffusion, etc.. Electronic processing of signals. Data recording and processing. Error theory. The theoretical basis is illustrated through experiments in which typical fluid mechanical measuring systems are used, such as hot-wire and Laser-Doppler anemometers. |
