Aim: To give the students the background for dimensioning of plants for combustion and gasification of primarily coal, natural gas and biomass. Most emphasize is given to explain the position of biomass in relation to the more traditional conventional fossil fuels. Of particular importance is the optimization of energy and environmental related aspcts. |
Contents: General energy conversion, thermal radiation and heat conduction in boilers. Combustion technology, pyrolysis and gasification of biomass. Biomass based fuels for combustion engines. |
