| Aim: To accomplish an analytical and physical understanding of flows aiming at analysing practical and theoretical flow configurations. |
| Contents: Derivation of Navier-Stokes equations and the energy equation on differential form as well as analytical and semi-analytical solutions of these. Physical properties of fluids. Continua-kinematics: Deformation fields, vorticity. Creeping flows, singularities. Viscous flows (pipes, boundary layers). Laminar/turbulent transition. Introduction to turbulence and turbulence modelling. |
