Aim: The course gives the student a knowledge and an understanding, theoretically as well as experimeltally, of the electric and magnetic proporties of devices and circuits which exhibit quantum behaviour at low temperature. The course intends to give the student a fundamental knowledge which will remain relevant also for the next generations of new electronics. |
Contents: Tunneling phenomena, localization, ballistic transport, CDW-systems (Charge-Density-Wave), Josephson junctions, Coulomb blockade, single electron phenomena, SETs (Single-Electron-Transitor), wuantum-Hall effects, FETs, hybrid semiconductor-superconductor devices, noise, makroscopic wuantum tunneling (MQT). |
