| Aim: To give a detailed knowledge of some of the mathematical methods used in plasma physics and make the students able to estimate and solve ploblems in plasma physics. |
| Contents: Electromagnetic and electrostatic wave in a magnetised plasma and the importance for heating, cooling and particle transport. Velocity distribution functions, the Vlasov equation and kinetic plasma effects. Non-linear phenomena in plasma physics: solitons, coherant structures and turbulence. Plasma discharges, plasma production and processes of importance for industrial applications. |
